Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria is the most Southern of the Canary Islands and Puerto Rico is in the South of Gran Canaria.
Tourism in Gran Canaria is relatively new and until 40 years ago it was almost nil, however in the last 40 years it has been built up and entire towns and resorts have been created, producing a very diverse island, with huge industrial and commercial centers, but also modern resorts and quaint fishing villages.
With temperature differences of around 10 degrees, across the island as a whole, there is a big difference in Wind speed and rainfall in the various ports.
With the prevailing wind being Northerly Puerto Rico is said to have the best, and most consistent, weather in the world.
The warmest, calmest and driest area on the island, is in the South between Maspalomas and Mogan. Puerto Rico is in the middle of this area and the temperatures here range between 20 and 40 degrees in the Summer Months, and 15 to 30 degrees in the winter months.
