In the south of Gran Canaria we have the opportunity to fish for a good selection of sharks, these include the regular species

• Tope
• Smoothhound
• Dogfish
• Angel

As well as the bigger species

• Mako
• Blue
• Thresher
• Hammerhead

The most common of these being the Hammerhead Shark which can turn up in huge numbers, and at very large sizes.

Methods of Shark Fishing can be varied ranging from bait fishing on the bottom to live bait suspended from balloons.
